Opportunities emerge from long standing community partnerships

It’s been a busy few months at Art With Heart Studio!   Last fall, Art With Heart affirmed their commitment to providing superior arts programming in our community, and became Art With Heart Studio Incorporated, a non-profit organization.   Then, this spring, Art With Heart’s steady growth over the past 5 years meant moving to a larger space in downtown Simcoe, opening soon!
Now, Art with Heart Studio is pleased to announce that the Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation has chosen them as the recipient of the Foundation’s legacy funds.

The Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation was established in 1999, with the goal of honouring the memory of long time local teacher and musician, Maureen Dodd, by  supporting and encouraging the enhancement and development of the Arts for the students within the community.
As the Foundation winds down operations the decision was made to provide remaining funds to Art with Heart Studio Inc.
Founder & CEO, Nikki Campbell Schram says: “This incredible donation to Art with Heart really belongs to the youth of Norfolk County and they will be the ones who directly benefit from this generosity. From helping us to create our Simcoe studio space to subsidizing school arts engagements, the Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation will live on and continue to impact many more young artists for years to come through Art with Heart Studio and we are so very proud to be given that honour.”

Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation Co-Chair Rachel Heart presents Art with Heart Studio their legacy funds

Rachel Heart, Co-Chair of the Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation adds, “I’m so happy AWH’s Mission Statement is so inclusive and full of heart and passion.”

There will be a short presentation on Sunday, July 7th at the first Powell Park Concert Series of the summer in Port Dover at 6:15pm. Art with Heart Studio will carry on the tradition that the Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation began so many years ago, by providing performance opportunities for youth at these Sunday concerts in the park. Opening for Sunset Sail, will be previous Maureen Dodd Arts Foundation scholarship recipient Jessica Rayner and 6 year old Ayla Schram.

Nikki Campbell-Schram adds, “I have greatly admired the MDAF’s work in our community for many years and I feel so blessed with the responsibility of continuing this beautiful legacy they have created for a teacher who meant so much to so many.”
