AWHS is excited to be offering private lessons in the musical arts! Perfect for people looking for some one-on-one time to allow their musical selves to flourish. With a diverse team of music instructors, private lessons are available on a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, vocals, harmonica, theory & songwriting! Lessons are offered Monday-Friday and are suitable for ages 4 – 99+!
There is never a wrong time to embark on a journey of musical exploration and we can’t wait to be a part of yours!

Meet The Team!

Jess Rayner-Bieri: Piano, Vocals, Theory & Songwriting
Our Music Director, Jess, brings a plethora of musical credentials including her Grade 9 RCM piano certificate, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music, and university credits in classical piano performance, Celtic music, music education, theory, history, composition & more! You may have even seen her performing with her guitar or her band around Norfolk County at events like the Simcoe Heritage Friendship Festival, The Norfolk County Fair, the Old Town Hall Summer Concert Series and at our all original Drama Kidz musicals!

Eric Brousseau: Guitar, Ukulele & Bass
Eric Brousseau is a multi-instrumentalist who comes from the sticks of Norfolk County, Ontario. Focusing primarily on Acoustic Guitar, Electric guitar, Electric Bass, and vocals over the past 12 years, he’s been keeping busy with many different projects, including teaching and live session work. Spanning many genres as well from; Funk, Blues & Soul, all the way to Country, Bluegrass, Rock, and more. Eric is available for solo, group, or workshop style lessons focusing on both the physical and theoretical aspects of music such as proper playing techniques or making music theory as consumable as possible. When he’s not teaching, he plays all over with the Highbanks Bluegrass Band and in a local duo with fellow ‘folkian Nolan Gibson.

Connor Sheppard: Guitar & Ukulele
Connor Sheppard is a seasoned musician who has been playing instruments since a very young age. He loves grunge, hip hop, jazz, funk and psychedelic, and plays in a local grunge-folk band! With a strong foundation in percussion, and a flair for both playing & working with guitars, Connor is a creative, and engaging guitar teacher for all learners and music enthusiasts!

Sophia Bowen: Piano, Ukulele & Harmonica
Sophia Bowen is a versatile musician with 19 years of musical experience. She is completing her Bachelor of Music at the University of Guelph, specializing in piano. She often experiments within the realm of classical, jazz, folk, and rock genres. Currently at the ninth piano grade level of the Royal Conservatory, Sophia is also proficient in harmonica, string, and woodwind instruments. Additionally, she has a unique talent for whistling and aspires to explore a professional path in this art form.
