Drama Kidz

Drama Kidz is our Art with Heart youth theatre company lead by local youth playwright and director Nikki Campbell Schram, which focuses on theatre fundamentals while rehearsing for a performance (And having a blast, of course)! A special feature of this program is that Nikki specifically writes the script and tailors each character to each actor; aiming to highlight the young cast members strengths and/or challenge them to try something new. To date, she has written eight children’s plays for young actors in the area! We welcome ages 7-13 and all levels of experience.

Rehearsals for Act I: the Port Dover company will be on Wednesdays – Starting Sept 11 and the Simcoe company will be on Thursdays – Starting Sept 12, after school and go for 12 weeks until they culminate with two shows (Dec. 5 & 6) at Lighthouse Festival Theatre!

Rehearsals for Act II: the Simcoe company will be on Wednesdays – Starting Jan 8 after school and go for 12 weeks until they culminate with two shows (Apr. 2 & 3) at Lighthouse Festival Theatre!

A full, detailed schedule will be provided prior to the first day of rehearsal. The program is $310/actor (plus tax).

Check out the video of the performance to see what an AMAZING job they did!

The show was written by Director Nikki Campbell-Schram and was inspired by local cat rescue Purrfect Companions of Norfolk, exploring how these tiny balls of fur can take up so much room in our hearts!
