Director’s Note by Nikki Campbell
“When life doesn’t give you lemons, make lemonade anyway!” And so, we did!
Our AWHS original musical ‘A Glass Half Full’, story and lyrics written by Nikki Campbell, and music composed by Jessica Rayner Bieri FINALLY took to the stage on May 9th 2025 at the Port Dover Community Centre. We couldn’t be more proud of how, after ‘Everything Went Wrong,’ we ‘worked hard and didn’t quit when it got harder!’

6 years ago, the events that inspired the show took place.
5 years ago, the show was written, rehearsed with the original cast, and cancelled two weeks before showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
3 years ago we socially distanced filmed each individual kid in the production to make a table read video of the show.
In January 2025, the show was revised and rewritten for an all new cast.
May 9th 2025, we finally brought that show to life on stage.
To the Drama Kidz cast: you LIT up that stage! From the moment you read the script you were as dedicated to telling this story as we were! The enthusiasm was palpable in every single rehearsal from day one. Thank you thank you thank you for your hard work and passion! Your performances were amazing and we look forward to seeing what’s next for you all!
To the creative team and crew (Leanne, Trish, Jess, Andy, Jenn and Dave): This was a MONSTER of a show, with a million set and props things to figure out, and you all killed it! A very special thank you to Trish Campbell who put a ton of extra work into the show, props and helped bring it to life!

Thank you so much to our sponsors Norfolk Dental Hygiene, without your generosity it would be impossible to do what we do! Thanks to the Lions at the Port Dover Community Centre for their help and support, as always. Thank you to the Drama Kidz parents for your support and encouragement at home! And thank you to every single teacher who brought their class, and to the audience members who came to see this show. Your support is beyond appreciated.
We’ve been dying to share this show for years and it meant the world to us to have every single one of you there. That’s a wrap on Drama Kidz Season 11, folks! Now, I have to go figure out what I’m going to write for next year’s show…..
